Jingle Bell Java
Congratulations on this wonderful coffee. I do enjoy a strong brew in the morning and this product is definitely a bold adventure for the taste buds. Strong but no bitterness and not over roasted. Suits my palette and warms the body and soul. This should be a winner for you...
This is a special coffee. My wife likes her coffee on the mild side. Hermit's Bold is moving her to the bolder (better) side!
A strong dark coffee which does not need cream or sweetener.
Just got my coconut margarita a couple days ago; came very quickly and I was thrilled to open the box and breathe in the coffee. The flavor is perfect - I can tell what it is but it's not overpowering or artificial tasting. I'm planning to see if I can get it in decaf too just so I can have it more frequently!
An enjoyable blend!
I love this blend, very smooth but still full of flavor. Also, once I ordered it, it came amazingly fast... as if angels flew it here :)
This is a rich, smooth, non-acid coffee. Never bitter. Very comforting for the first contemplative moments of the day, and then delicious throughout the day.
I favor dark-roasted coffee, but not the burned and bitter stuff Starbucks sells; I've been buying coffee beans for decades from Quartermaine, a roaster in Rockville, Md., folks who know to quit roasting before crossing that line. Mystic Monk is the first coffee merchant I've ever come across with a similar sensibility. This Hermits Bold Blend is obviously fresh-roasted, has a wonderful, rich aroma and makes for a splendid and tasty brew. We usually brew to medium strength using a Bonavita drip machine but I came up with a particularly delicious cup or two using a press pot, six measures to four cups of water. Pow!
Wonderful, consistent flavor that is an automated part of our morning. Automated because we not only use a coffee pot with a built in grinder on a timer but also subscribe to make sure we never run out. As a former Starbucks consumer, we are thrilled not only with the flavor and service but even more so with the chance to help support a traditional order of religious. 10 stars were it available!
A brew of Hermits Bold Blend tastes as good as its predecessor beans smell. And those beans have a really great aroma. Rooty. Chocolaty. Complex. I like coffee very strong. Strong Hermits Blend Bold does not go harsh or bitter. My waking thought (after, "Good morning, God,") is, "Well, there's Hermits Bold out there."
I enjoy your coffees. I like expresso bold or dark. . I was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, I am used to dark coffees. I do not like flavored coffees. I enjoy adding a little coffee liquer to my coffe, or chocolate liquor.
My friends and relatives enjoy your coffees too.
I heard about Mystic Monk on a radio program about 4 years ago and have been using it exclusively since. I love Hermits Bold. It makes a wonderful gift.
Love this coffee. I've been buying the Monk's cofree for a few years. Always gets raves, my kids always ask for it for Christmas!
We had to start drinking Starbucks because we were out of Monks. We could really appreciate the Hermits Bold after being without
Probably my favorite of all the Monk coffees. Full body, smooth yet MANLY! God bless you monks for bringing a little sip of heaven to earth.
What can I say other then I love it. Monk might be cost a little bit more but it is so worth it. I an only allowed a pot of coffee once a week and may be get away with a cup or two on other days, but it is the only way to start a morning or end a fine dinner.
My favorite! What lovely coffee! Friends ask what brand it is and I hand them the flyer from my order.
My wife bought a small bag of this for me which I used in my Keurig. I'd always bought coffee from the gourmet bulk section at a local high-end store where I live. I've always been very picky when it comes to the coffee I drink because life is too short to drink bad coffee. I was somewhat skeptical but wanted to support the monks... and boy oh boy I could not have been more wrong! This coffee is WONDERFUL! I'm sold and going to buy this going forward! I'm proud to be able to support these monks who roast this great coffee and pray for all of us all at the same time!
I'm enjoying my first cup of this delicious blend right now, and I have to say this is my favorite so far! (I've tried a number of others from Mystic Monk) My only complaint is that this blend does not (yet) come in the 'monk shots' for my Keurig. I almost never buy coffee if it isn't for my Keurig, but I am glad I made the exception this time. I really hope you consider adding this to your "Monk Shot" lineup in the near future. You can be sure that I'll be first in line to purchase it. Thank you for the great coffee, and for saying 'yes' to your vocation! God bless.
Here in the Pacific Northwest (PNW), coffee IS culture and to reduce it to a "hot drink" is a clue that you're from out-of-state. I was searching for a roast that would help me take the flavors of the PNW everywhere I went (but not at the price of PNW coffee). When I tried Hermit's Bold Blend for the first time, the aroma just jolted me awake! It was crisp, and very inviting; you knew it was dark, but it had character and body, unlike the sludge some coffee roasters come up with. It really goes great with milk and, for me, the monks have created something that surpasses most of the coffee roasters in town! Give this one a try. It's like tasting the music of a well-sung Allegri Miserere.
Works really well with an Aeropress: about 30g coffee to 200g water, inverted, brew for five minutes (stir half way through). Still playing with the exact proportions, but I haven't made a bad cup yet. Comes out smooth, rich and complex.
I bought one pack of this from Monastery Greetings, and now I'm going to the Mystic Monks website for more. This is the best coffee I've ever made at home, and it's right up there with some of the very best I've gotten at coffee shops. It's bold, but not bitter--really has a rich taste. I just bought a single cup coffee maker which takes grounds in a reusable mesh filter. I can use less coffee in it than with the blend I was using, and it tastes better. I can't drink too much coffee, so I like what I do have to be really special--this is the best!
I have tasted many store brands of dark roast over the years and this blend and roast is superior! It is smoky and robust but does not leave a bitter taste. It is also very smooth.
This blend is my favorite. Big bold taste but smooth.
A great dark roast with lots of taste.
