December 2016 - Christmas Blend

This fine coffee received an excellent 91pt review from coffee expert, Kenneth Davis! Here is what he said:  " Rich, roast-rounded. Almond, dark chocolate, strawberry guava, rhododendron-like flowers, orange zest in aroma and cup. Mild, sweet-toned acidity; plush, syrupy mouthfeel. The chocolate-framed finish is quietly resonant and deeply sweet, with continued hints of flowers." -  Kenneth Davids, CoffeeReview.com, November 2016   For our December Coffee of the Month we have the Christmas Blend 2016.  With a special mix of some of the finest Latin American and Ethiopian beans around the Christmas Blend 2016 is our best blend of the year. Roasted Beans Choir Monk: These beans look excellent!  They have the characteristic Kenyan shape to them - a little rounder and less oval than we see with beans from other origins.  I can smell hints of cinnamon and tamarind.Lay Monk: They do look very...

September 2016 - Colombian Tolima Supremo

For our September Coffee of the Month we have the Colombian Tolima Supremo.  This fine coffee is of the highest, Supremo, grade which refers to both the large size of the bean and also the quality of the cup itself. Roasted Beans Choir Monk: These beans look nice; they are large and evenly roasted. I can see small oil patches on the beans which would indicate a medium roast.  I can smell tones of charred cedar. Lay Monk: Yes, Br. Roaster took these beans to around 430 degrees to accentuate the best qualities of the bean. I can smell hints...

August 2016 - Flores Bajawa Ngura

For our August Coffee of the Month we have the exotic Flores Bajawa Ngura.  Long time Coffee of the Month club members will remember we also offered this fine coffee in 2012 and 2013. Flores is an Indonesian island located east of Java. Unlike most of Indonesia the population of Flores is almost entirely Catholic. This coffee is prepared using the "wet hulled" process common to many Indonesian coffees and results in a very distinctive flavor. Roasted Beans Choir Monk: These beans look very good! A little larger then most beans we've had but I can tell that they are...
