This press is a great investment. You support the environment by putting the coffee grounds in a compost heap, or by using them around your garden. I make three level cups of water each day (two mugs). I use four level tablespoons of coffee, brewing for four minutes, by timer, in the Press. The press will hold four cups of water, if you wish to make that much coffee at a time. The brewed coffee will stay hot and fresh in the Press for a few hours - I mean until you fill your mug a third time that morning. My brewed coffe= doesn't have time to become stale. I need at least four bags of coffee a month.
After using my mom's Monk Press, I fell in love! The Monk Press is so much easier to clean than my last few french presses, won't shatter, and keeps my coffee warm throughout the morning.
But the first three pots I brewed tasted...really good. I'm pleased. And, so nice looking!
I avoided buying a press for years because the coffee was always tepid after the first cup, but the Monk Press keeps it hot for quite a while. Love it!
This item is exactly as described, and more! It has exceeded my expectations on every level: quality, ease of use, ease of cleaning (my main objection to this method of brewing), and quality and taste of the finished product. Best of all, it keeps my second cup of coffee nice and hot!
