    ACCEPTABLE DECAF

    WHILE THIS IS LISTED AS DARK ROAST DECAF, I FELT THE FLAVOR WAS
    QUITE MILD. IT STILL HAS A GOOD TASTE BUT I HAVE TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL SPOON OF COFFEE TO THE MIX. I DO LIKE THE FACT THAT THE DECAF IS
    WATER DECAFFEINATED, SO IT IS LESS ACIDIC FOR MY STOMACH.

    The Vespers Decaf is now my go to expresso. The vesper Decaf is wonderfully dark with rich nutty, cherry and chocolate notes. Wow! what a wonderful coffee.

    Not just for evening!

    This is my every day coffee. I drank Starbucks Dark Roast French Roast for about 15 years. Then I noticed that I wasn't sleeping very deeply due to the caffeine. I tried other decaf coffee and it was okay, but not as good as the Starbucks. As a delivery driver I became acquainted with Mystic Monk Coffee, and tried Vesper's Decaf. The flavor is excellent, dark roast, rich flavor. It is now my everyday coffee, and I sleep soundly. Try a bag, it may become your new everyday coffee too.

    Tastes like it smells

    I have the pod version, and have tried it black and in a "butter coffee" blend. In both cases the flavor is rich and the taste complements the smell. I have felt for a long life (83 years) that coffee almost never tastes as good as it smells. This one does.

    While I purchased 3 different blends (also carmel and hazelnut) I was intrigued with Vespers! I love praying the Hours! What a perfect blend of a Dark, Aromatic Coffee which I Love!     How Do You Decaffeinate Your Coffee Beans?

    Mystic Monk uses a natural water decaffeination process akin to the Swiss Water Process — a method of extracting caffeine directly from coffee beans using only clean water.

    This method is a healthier alternative for making decaf coffee than other methods that use chemical solvents — such as ethyl acetate and methylene chloride — to decaffeinate coffee beans.

    Similar to the Swiss Water process, we soak our highest quality beans in pure water, raising the temperature over time to let the beans expand and eventually releasing the caffeine within them to be extracted.

    Our natural water process removes the caffeine while keeping the delicious flavor and aroma you'll enjoy whenever you brew our "Vespers Decaf" bean or ground coffee.

    How Much Caffeine Is There In Your "Vespers Decaf" Decaffeinated Coffee Beans?

    Since our decaffeination process is similar to the Swiss Water Process, it follows that our "Vespers Decaf" would similarly have about 99.9% of its caffeine removed.

    On average, this would amount to about 2 mg of caffeine in a standard cup of coffee, which is much lower than our other non-decaf coffees.

    The lower caffeine amount lets you enjoy the smooth, bold flavors of our "Vespers Decaf" coffee in a variety of brewing methods that would otherwise make regular coffee highly caffeinated, such as in a French press or a small cup of decaf espresso.
