Although the monks are not professional musicians, it comes through on this recording very clearly that they are praying and not simply performing. Their love for the Blessed Virgin Mary is also very clear too. If there's one criticism I can make, it's that the chants are presented as an assortment rather than in the order in which they would be sung during the Mass/Divine Office. I would love it if the monks were to record another album which included, perhaps, Lauds and Vespers or the entire Mass (Propers, Ordinary, etc.). It would make good listening in the car to and from work.
